There are probably a lot of all-but-legendary races I’ve never heard of which would make for much better answers than this, but of the ones I know of, I’m going to go for Monaco 1984, when Ayrton qualified 13th and the race was red-flagged because it was so wet, but by the end of the race he was catching Prost at 4 seconds a lap (and might have overtaken-I can’t remember…). In writing it seems like an absolutely spectacular drive, and I’d love to have seen it live.
Either that or…was it Abu Dhabi 2010 which decided the championship? I’m a Vettel fan, so seeing such a tense race with so many possible Champions and him coming out on top for his first title would have been pretty special.
