If you could watch one race live in the whole of F1 history, which would you choose and why?
If I could have a selection, there would be many to choose. From Brazil 1991 with Senna and his gearbox, Italy 2006 where Schumacher announced his retirement and then Abu Dhabi 2010 where Vettel took his first championship.
However, if I could only watch one race live, there is no competition which I would choose. Brazil 2006. Michael Schumacher’s last race. Fernando Alonso only had to finish within the top eight to clinch the championship and it was obvious 2006 would yet again be his year. The car failure in qualifying meant that Michael had to start his race from tenth. It seemed as if the weekend was going to be one to forget after a puncture cursed him early on in the race. However, not one to disappoint, Michael powered on to finish in fourth place.
It was a heroic drive from a heroic man.
